Professional Training and Community Education
Holyoake is a Registered Training Organisation providing accredited training courses in Group Facilitation and Administration/Reception Skills, with assessment to issuance of Statements of Attainment. These nationally recognised qualifications are related to Units of Competence from the Community Services Training Package in the specialist area of Alcohol and Other Drugs Work.
Holyoake's Department of Training and Community Education provides specific services for staff, tertiary students, and health and welfare professionals as well as professional placements for tertiary students. Training is delivered both on and off-site as well as to Holyoake's affiliates in New South Wales, Tasmania, Northern Territory and Queensland. Training takes place internally or externally using face-to-face, blended and on-line learning techniques, and may be self-paced.
Holyoake also provides a series of non-accredited training throughout the year in the form on one-day professional development workshops. Corporate workshops on alcohol and other drug use issues are delivered on request.
Education and Training programs are held throughout the year for professionals from alcohol and drug and allied fields, tertiary students and interested community members. Training courses range from a one-week course in Basic Group Facilitation or Counselling Skills, and Reception Skills to shorter courses in Professional Practice. Alcohol and Other Drugs, Presenting Skills and Skills for reception and administrative staff in AOD agencies. Tertiary students who complete the Basic Group Facilitation Course may be eligible for the Student Involvement Program which involves placement in the agency for a six month period.
On request courses can be specifically developed to suit particular needs and work places.
