Where do I go when I arrive? Please see the enclosed map for directions and go to the reception desk when you first arrive. Please aim to arrive ten minutes prior to your appointment time.

How long will it take? For one person your appointment will take approximately one hour or for two people your appointment will take between one hour and one and a half hours.

What should I expect? Some basic information will be collected and you will discuss with your counsellor what has brought you to Holyoake and what your desired outcome is.

What if I can't attend my appointment? Please telephone your local office as soon as you are aware that you will not be able to attend your appointment to cancel or reschedule your booking. We request you let us know at least 48 hours prior to your appointment if you are unable to attend, as we can then often give the appointment to someone else.

What is an open group? An open group is one in which new members can join at any time. Typically, Holyoake's open group programs offer 12 weekly sessions with a different topic being explored each week. Once the 12 topics are covered, we simply start over again. Using this open group format, a person can join in at session 1, 2, 3, 4 etc as they will always be able to cover all 12 topics.

What is a closed group? A closed group runs for designated number of weeks and starts with a certain number of members - for example, a closed group program might run for 6 weekly sessions and once it has commenced, new members cannot join the group for the entire 6 weeks duration.

Who can access Holyoake's range of services? Holyoake offers a range of services to suit people of all ages and genders. Holyoake recognises that everyone's needs are different and some people may require support in other areas, such as mental health, in addition to drug and alcohol support. In most circumstances Holyoake will be able to offer a service that would meet each person's individual needs.
