At Holyoake, we understand the impact a family member or friends' alcohol or other drug use may have on those who are not using.  We also recognise that sometimes it is difficult for those we care about to access the support they require. Holyoake offers a range of individual and group programs for family members or friends who want to provide better support to their loved ones in relation to their alcohol or other drug use. Through individual or group programs we can provide a non-judgemental environment that encourages discussion about the concerns and issues you might be facing.

Together with your counsellor, or group facilitator, we can work together to overcome issues such as:
  • Communication barriers.
  • Understanding the reasons for alcohol or other drug use.
  • Improving self-esteem and self-care.
  • Developing coping skills.
  • Developing practical skills for facilitating positive change.
  • Breaking negative cycles.
  • Family dynamics.
  • Impact of the alcohol or other drug use on the relationship.
  • Stress, anxiety and depression.
